Upstream with Jim and Jon is a podcast featuring father and son conversations about discipleship and culture in the Pacific Northwest. Listen in as we seek to follow the way of Jesus against the currents of culture, religion, and our own human inclinations, to find answers to life’s most common challenges. If you’re looking for a place to have honest talks with other people of faith in a culture that more and more sees you as an other, you’ve come to the right place.

Blog

While Upstream provides a conversational look at pressing issues, our blog allows us to address those topics, and others, on a more technical level. It serves a second purpose as well, in that we can write on issues that either don’t work well on the podcast format, or are too brief to fill an entire episode. We post on our blog twice a week, and would love if you checked it out! Also, please leave comments and engage with us so we can learn from one another and keep moving forward.

Books

We are passionate writers who love practical advice for believers that want to go deeper in their faith. Whether in your personal relationship with God, or in your ministry to those around you, our priority is to help you be a better follower of Jesus. Our first book is The Pursuit, a 40 day devotional exploring the basics of Biblical Christianity, and you can find it under the “Books” tab. It is available in paperback and Kindle versions on Amazon or in a spiral-bound sturdier version through purchase on this website. Either way, we hope you enjoy it and let us know how it speaks to your own pursuit of God.
